Installation of artificial lighting and rain reflect the outputs of the real world sensor from Pachube

  My installation of purple colour lights and rain both reflects real world sensor from Pachube.
Purple colour light shows brightness in form when the day goes dark, it provide artificial lighting to the area in Pure War, according to the real world sensor feed, the day gets dark 6pm in summer time and gets bright at 6a.m., therefore the most efficient and necessary lighting is from sunset time till next morning when sun rises again. My flowgraph for the lighting is set to trigger when the day time goes to 6pm, and the trigger disables the light output by 6a.m. the next day.
Rain is something from the nature, it is a good contrast with artificial lighting or a sculpture, rain is something as a gift from nature, by making a rain, one has the sense of being God, which is the master of all creations on earth. Rain reflects the real world sensor information from Pachube, that the soil moisture comes to the lowest point and the temperature is the highest in the mid afternoon time between 2:30-4pm, therefore my design of rain fits the purpose of providing water to balance the moisture and cooling down temperature in the garden in afternoon times. In the rain flowgraph, the trigger enables the rain to start at 1pm and the disables the rain by 4pm.

Pachube is a website with real time sensor data for weather, humidity, temperature collected in various geographical locations of the world. These datas were published by people working at weather stations or achieved through other channels where reliable source of data can be obtained. This website is useful for environmental issue driven audiences, farmers or gardeners who need to adjust to the temperatures, humidity, brightness/darkness, for indoor/outdoor environment management, etc., for example when managing a building, one needs to have accurate informations of temperature to turn the air condition up to a specific temperature to cool a hot morning. A recent feed I thought which is quite interesting, “Chicken barn door status”. A range of collective datas showing figures from a chicken barn door in California, USA. It interests me because it carries one’s imagination to issues that people are talking about all the time, how chickens living their lives on the chicken farms, space issue for a happy chicken

Paul Virilio's concept of "Pure War!" and my SketchUp model

My SketchUp model is a giant wheel sculpture.
Wheel is the symbol for human technology invention and human civilisation, it represents the history of human development and livelihood of human needs such as travel, transfer, movement, evolution, etc.
Sculpture is an art form which is the closest to architecture, it is constructed with structure and proportion, it carries out a long lasting object in the space that interacts with the viewers.
The giant wheel sculpture carries a philosophical message in the Pure War environment, it is the human civilisation versus violence, construction versus destruction, art versus gun.
The red texture on the giant wheel sculpture represent blood and warning.
The green texture on the giant wheel sculpture represent peace and hope.
 

modes of documentary and poetic mode used for my machinima documentary

On your blog write 150 words describing the mode or modes you are using to create your machinima documentary and indicate what benefit you gain by using them. Use modes presented in lecture 4 as your starting point.

Documentary modes are: Poetic Mode, Expository Mode, Observational Mode, Reflexive Mode and Performativity Mode.

Documentary is a way of document an event, a person, an object, a discovery, the intention of documentary is to capture the real moment and reveal the truth.

Various documentary modes carry out different approaches for viewer to receive the information.

Poetic mode takes on a filmmaker's aesthetic and subjective visual interpretation of a subject.

Expositonal mode collects objective footage that functions to strengthen the explanation or arguing a film's rhetorical content. 

Observational documentaries tend to simply observe, allowing viewers to reach whatever conclusions they may deduce. 

Reflexive mode considers the quality of documentary itself, de mystifying its processes and considering its implications. 

Performativity Mode is where the filmmaker raise argument and asserts a message in the documentation, such as works by Michael Moore. 

I used Poetic mode for my machinima documentary, the visual images of a war zone with gun fight, fire, etc and the audio of smooth jazz create contrasts between beauty and cruelty, peace and war, comfort and destruction. The benefit I gain from using this mode is, the benefit of strong influences from the documentary to the audiences. As a filmmaker one adopt the poetic mode's subjective narration to create a realm with a strong message. It allows audiences to be influenced with the images and music to feel the effects created therefore to receive the message from this documentary both emotionally and logically.

This is an interesting and useful feed from UK which has real time sensor information on out door garden temperature, humidity, dew point, soil temperature and soil moisture.
It enables one to analyze the coldest/hottest hours of the day in the garden, and when the garden soil is the driest. One can based on the information provided from this feed to decide when to water the garden. 
I see this feed as an inspiration of water source in Pure War, when in the afternoon, the soil gets the driest, raining starts for water supply.
